Where Nature
Becomes Knowledge

A living garden of medicinal plants, learning and nourishment.

A Living Resource

Nature. Knowledge.
Ayurveda.

The Herbal Garden is home to over 50+ varieties of medicinal herbs and plants, bringing the knowledge of Ayurveda to life within the University campus.

More than a green space, it offers an opportunity to see, identify and understand medicinal plants and their place in Ayurveda, creating a living connection between traditional knowledge, clinical practice and learning.

Within the academic environment of Swami Rama Himalayan University, the garden also serves as a valuable resource for observation and learning by students, practitioners, patients and visitors.

Some of the Medicinal Plants in Our Collection

Each plant carries its own place in Ayurveda knowledge and practice. The garden allows visitors to encounter these plants in their natural form and understand how they have been valued and used over generations.

From Garden to Care

Knowledge in Practice

The Herbal Garden creates a tangible connection between the plants described in Ayurveda and their place in contemporary Ayurveda practice.

Selected herbs and plant-based preparations may form part of care at the Centre, as advised by the Vaidya. The garden also helps patients and visitors better understand the natural origins of many substances associated with Ayurveda.

Nourishment Begins with Nature

Alongside medicinal plants, seasonal vegetables are grown organically, without chemical fertilisers or pesticides. Fresh produce from the garden may become part of the therapeutic diet and Sattvic meals served during residential care, where appropriate. Patients can experience this connection first-hand—from seeing fresh produce growing in the garden to experiencing its place in everyday nourishment.
