AYURVEDA
IN PRACTICE
Care is personal. Knowledge is evolving.
The individual remains at the centre of both.
The Centre brings Ayurveda into an environment where clinical practice, teaching and learning come together. Experienced Ayurveda physicians (Vaidyas) provide consultation, therapies, Panchakarma and personalised programmes, supported by trained therapists and residential facilities.
Beyond clinical practice, our Vaidyas contribute to teaching and academic engagement at SRHU, creating a continuing relationship between practice, learning and enquiry.
The Centre is enriched by the Himalayan Tradition as taught by H.H. Dr. Swami Rama, bringing Yoga, meditation and an understanding of body, breath and mind into its approach to wellbeing.

H. H. DR. SWAMI RAMA
H.H. Dr. Swami Rama of the Himalayas was a Yogi, philosopher, scientist and humanitarian whose life brought together spiritual wisdom, scientific enquiry and service to humanity.
He viewed wellbeing not merely as freedom from illness, but as harmony within the whole human being. His understanding of the relationship between body, breath and mind, and his emphasis on the inherent capacity of every individual for healing and renewal, continue to inspire the Centre’s approach.
In 1989, he founded the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT) with a vision of bringing healthcare, education and service together. The Ayurveda Centre, established in 1998, carries this vision forward through Ayurveda care enriched by Yoga, meditation, mindful living and the Himalayan Tradition.
Every human being has potentials for healing.
The healing energy is flowing without interruption
in every human heart.
